What is Wanderburg?
Wanderburg is a minimalist medieval roguelike about roaming fortresses, developed by Randwerk (Berlin) and published by Sidekick Publishing. You drive a castle on wheels into battle, devour entire villages, herds and smaller castles, and build a modular arsenal of siege machinery. It launched into Early Access on Steam on September 8, 2026.
The game is still in Early Access (estimated 6–12 months), so mechanics, modules, captains and bosses change between patches. Every page on this wiki states what build it was verified against, and anything unconfirmed is labelled instead of guessed.
The core loop
- Drive — roll your castle across procedurally generated maps, using momentum and turning radius as a real combat tool.
- Devour — absorb fleeing villages, wandering herds and smaller castles to grow physically bigger and stronger.
- Build — place modules on the front, sides and rear of the castle and upgrade them during the run.
- Fight strongholds — destroy enemy fortresses and bosses; your castle ranks up after each boss kill.
- Unlock between runs — spend Silver on modules, vehicles, artifacts and captains that widen your next run.
- Repeat — each run ends with you bigger, further and with more build options than before.

Modes & progression
Runs are the in-run loop; Silver, modules, vehicles and captains are the between-run progression. The guides below cover each layer:
- In-run — Modules, bosses and controls decide how a single run plays.
- Between runs — Progression, module unlocks, captains, vehicles and Silver decide what your next run can do.
- Decisions — Builds and best modules help you specialise.
Why this wiki is verified-first
This site exists because fast-moving Early Access games are full of stale guides. Our promise: every fact is sourced, version-stamped and labelled.
- Official sources first — the Steam store page, official announcements and patch notes are the baseline.
- Version-stamped — patch-sensitive pages state which build the info was verified against.
- Honest labels — anything unconfirmed is marked Community report / unverified instead of invented.
